About us

Mums for Mums is a locally registered civil society organization, legally commissioned to be engaged in charity works and activities in Tigray, Ethiopia, in May 2001. It is premised on the fundamental idea of gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls as its core guiding principle of its actions. It is one of the largest local nongovernmental organizations working in Ethiopia on various development and humanitarian works, focusing on ending poverty as well as social, political and economic injustice in women and girls. It envisions to see gender equal society in Tigray and aspires achieving its objective through comprehensive interventions in livelihoods, nutrition, health, education, social accountability, peace building and conflict mitigation, and emergency preparedness and response programs.
